Tottenham Hotspur had a few long running transfer saga’s over the summer window, and Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes certainly took a major share of the headlines. With the October international break in full flow, there were always going to be rehashes in the press about our apparent interest in the 25-year-old Portuguese international.
Following the earlier speculation, that as fans will know, ultimately came to nothing, with ongoing claims about Christian Eriksen’s future and a potential cut price departure in the New Year when the January window reopens, outlet A Bola have recently claimed that Fernandes continues to be manager Mauricio Pochettino’s top pick as our replacement for the Dane.

Given all the contrary and contradictory claims made about Fernandes, I think the only two things we can be sure of is that A, we had an interest and B, we failed to agree a fee.
With Eriksen continuing to split fans with Spurs’ form and his own performances, it seems plenty of fans on social media are on board with a return for the player next window, but naturally there continue to be doubts about whether we would, in fact, strike a deal this time around.
Classic levy. Should have just got the job done in the summer when we had personal terms all agreed. Instead we’ll most probably miss out on him and have messed up half the season by jan

We had are chance to sign him and of course levy wouldn’t pay the money
